“Nila Mehewara”of people’s service was organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, on the instructions of President Maithiripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, The purpose was to provide solutions for unresolved administrational, economic and social problems face by the people of Kurunegala District.
The preparations were arranged to solve problems of the public with the help of government, statutory, private and non-government institutions accordingly. The significance of this program was augmented due to the especial involvement of more than 30 institutions like Department for Registration of Persons, Registrar offices, Department of Social Services, Department of Prisons, Department of Motor Traffic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vocational Training Authority, Vidatha Centre, Department of Survey, National Youth Services Council, Department of Labour etc.
A survey was conducted to identify personal needs and issues at the district level. There were 13308 problems identified. In addition 3476 people's issues were raised on the day and 2831 problems were solved on the same day. Provision of drinking water filters as a solution to the problems of common issues such as drinking water supply, wild elephant threats and supply of drinking water at provincial level, and expeditious work on constructing common erect fences and road development projects at village level It was decided.

Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease was established with direct guidance and instructions of His Excellency in order to enhance facilities of welfare and preventative matters to patients affected with Chronic Kidney Disease.
Under this program 19 Filter water supply systems in the Ehetuwewa Divisional Secretariat area have been handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy by the Presidential Secretariat.The following places have been established in the filter water supply systems and have been successfully implemented

Under the guidance of the Presidential Secretariat, the "Gramashakthi" program is planned to be implemented across the island with the objective of providing sustainable solutions to all the socio-economic issues that have been resolved by 2030 to eliminate absolute poverty in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the 104 GN divisions of the Ehetuwewa secretarial division, 120 - Hiddeware grama niladhari division are areas with high poverty and 113 / Makulewa Grama Niladari division are the product / service facing the villages under the first phase of the program. The subprojects are as follows:

Distribution Plants And Chicks
In the year 2017, Rs. 750000.00 was allocated for Rural people's Movement held by the presidential Secretariat. According to the information received from the grama nildari Divisions, chicks were distruted to the Hiddewa and Bongama divisions and the plans wewe ditributed to the makulewa division.

Infranstructure development and capacity development programe
Three million rupees have been allocated by the Presidential Secretariat to develop infrastructure facilities in three Grama Niladhari Divisions under this program.
